Riding Lesson Program

LRA offers beginner through advanced saddleseat riding lessons for children and adults. Participants may choose to learn to ride for the sheer pleasure of riding a horse or they may choose to prepare for competition.

Inexperienced riders normally begin by taking 30 minute private lessons on school horses of various breeds. The cost for private instruction starts at $35/lesson. As riders advance, they are moved up to more challenging horses, mainly Saddlebreds. When riders are able to ride safely with others, they begin riding in small groups. Group lessons usually run longer from 45-50 minutes.
